IT Colloquium - Every year HEWIT organised a residential colloquium at Gregynog Hall (University of Wales' conference centre) for IT staff to discuss recent developments and to exchange experiences. Since 2004 this event has been jointly organised with WHELF (a group of managers of library services in Welsh HE institutions), since the two groups share many areas of interest.

WHISD - Staff Development group for WHELF and HEWIT members. Organises training events for members and identifies good practice. The Convenor  is Sara Marsh, email - s.l.marsh@swansea.ac.uk
